The Mirrors of the Soul series was created through reflection on the woman/girl in the visual arts. On the images of more or less well-known paintings I continued to work with the monotype technique. The works are therefore mixed media. This series was exhibited for the first time in a gallery in The Netherlands. The opening took place on International Women’s Day March 8, 2020. This series will be showed on the Event Art&Papiers in Vézénobres in the south of France during the weekend of 21/22 May 2022.
The series started with a monotype about a reproduction of a painting by Elisabeth Vigée-le-Brun. This created a veiled image of mother and child. This theme was further developed on reproductions of paintings and photographs. The titles refer to the state of the woman/girl, that she evokes in me.
